The correct identification of delegates is a vital part of any event. Many events use simple badges made of card showing only basic information in them. On some occasions, badges also have barcodes which can be used as a simple tracking system.
Smart Badges however give event organisers new levels of control over what occurs at their events.
As with traditional badging, a Smart Badge displays all the information needed to identify a delegate: logos and names can easily be printed on the badge. However, its big advantage is that it can also store encrypted information using an integrated RFID circuit. This can not only identify the delegate, it can identify the event, and also store any specific information about the delegate, such as access or voting rights. They can even be used as electronic tickets allowing, for example, delegates to enjoy a certain number of a particular privilege.
Through the use of our custom RFID scanning system, Smart Badges can be scanned at different points for different purposes. They can of course also be used seamlessly with our audience response handsets in any session, which means they can be integrated totally in all activities within the event.
Our Attendance Management System uses our Smart Badges to identify and process delegate quickly, efficiently and securely. Access rights can be stored on the badges and a register of each delegate is stored on each scanner for analysis.
Imagine a five-day conference involving 700 international delegates with each delegate purchasing a slightly different package, allowing them to attend a combination of presentations or workshops on those days. Smart Badges would allow you to check who has come in on what day and to which sessions. This information is vital not only to ensure all delegates are getting a fair deal, but also to study attendance patterns for future events.
"Delighted to say that we were very pleased with the Group Dynamics service at our conference - the system worked very well indeed.
It was great to have instant knowledge of how many people had signed in each day, which made it much easier to predict catering requirements on an ongoing basis, for example."
Furthermore, data stored on the badges can allow access to special VIP events. However since there is no need to place a visible mark on the card to show eligibility for the event, delegates would not know by looking at each other who was eligible and who was not.
Smart Badges are also ideal for medical symposia where attendance at certain sessions can count towards CPD credits.
“The technician was excellent – helpful, patient and smart. He used his initiative and communicated well with our Chairman.”
