Using EventTech to Support a FinTech Conference

Using EventTech to Support a FinTech Conference

In April 2016 Innovate Finance held their annual global summit focussing on the developments in the world of FinTech at The Guildhall in London. As with many conference events, there was an exhibitor element and Innovate Finance wanted a solution for their exhibitors that embraced the theme of the event utilising innovative technology. This is where we came in! For the second year running Innovate Finance approached Group Dynamics to help them offer an innovative lead retrieval solution. Each of the 1600 delegates that attended the Summit were provided with a RFID Smart Badge on registration and the 100 exhibitors each had a Smart Device with our lead retrieval app installed. When a delegate visited an exhibitor, they scanned their Smart Badge on the exhibitor’s tablet device logging that they had visited that particular stand. The exhibitor could then classify the delegate, write notes about their conversation and optionally...

Is It True That Duck Quacks Don’t Echo?

Is It True That Duck Quacks Don’t Echo?

Actually it isn’t but the Sky1 television game show with the same name continues to test whether the most startling facts are true. With Lee Mack overseeing proceedings, three celebrity guests bring an interesting fact to the table for discussion and, with the help of a team of verifiers, attempt to prove whether this fact is true or not. They also discuss facts put forward by the audience as well as by Lee himself. Season 3 of the show introduced an audience participation element with the audience rating how good they believed a fact was. For this, we were contacted to help implement a system to enable this to happen. Each member of the audience was provided with one of our Messenger handsets. They were then asked to score a fact from 1 to 10, with 1 being not very good and 10 being amazing. The results of these...

Belarus Free Theatre – Trash Cuisine

Belarus Free Theatre – Trash Cuisine

Waterboarding and Interactive Voting – an interesting mix! Over the years we’ve supported thousands of different events but last month was the first time we have provided interactive systems for some (simulated!) torture and executions, as part of a harrowing piece of political theatre called Trash Cuisine organised by Belarus Free Theatre, a company banned in their country of origin. The play centres on the death penalty in all its gruesomeness, and effectively puts capital punishment on trial itself. The keypads were used, in conjunction with live voting over the internet, to ask the audience about their views on capital punishment, and also to involve them in a mock trial based on true events. The immersive and very direct portrayal of some very graphic scenes made it impossible for the audience to feel disconnected from the subject matter. Clever juxtapositions played with popular opinions and challenged views on what...

Top City law firm sparks Partner discussion on innovation using tablet technology

A leading London City law firm held a Partner Network day on Market Disruption and Innovation. Hosts wanted Partners within the firm to take part in two question and answer sessions to get crucial feedback on how the firm was performing in a range of business service areas.   How we did it In the first session, organisers wanted Partners to have the opportunity to raise any issues concerning market disruption that they wanted panel speakers to address. To enable this, we created a free text box on the tablets which enabled Lawyers to send in their comments with ease. Individuals simply typed in their questions, one at a time, for panel member discussion.
