Medical Devices: 900 Knee Surgeons in Gothenburg

Conducted by a world-class international faculty of top orthopaedic knee surgeons, the meeting was an intensive three days of lectures, debates and workshops to introduce the newest techniques and innovations in knee repair products, in soft tissue management and re-constructive surgery.

The 900 attendees were actively encouraged to ask questions, interact with faculty, share and debate best practices to improve standards in knee arthroplasty.

Group Dynamics created a bespoke meeting app for the three day conference; offering the following features:

  • Full course program and logistical information
  • Biographies of all faculty members
  • Presentation slides for delegates to review
  • A daily journal with information about the previous day’s proceedings
  • Live polling
  • The ability to send in questions for Q&A and discussion sessions
  • Knee Chatter: a Twitter-style comment feed where delegates were free to post comments and have discussions

"We had the opportunity to share our experience with the audience, thanks to the voting system, and the tablet questions from the audience. What I really liked as Chairman was to see the number of questions we had from the audience. Thanks for helping us have this interaction."

As well as creating the app, Group Dynamics provided a 7″ tablet for each delegate, as well as the wifi network to cover the 1,500 seat Congress Hall and exhibition area at the Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden.

"In a multicultural setting with more than 35 nationalities, attending delegates want to learn not only from the experts but also from each other. How do you do it? By sharing knowledge, tips and tricks and discuss cases and own experiences!

Interaction, questions from the audience via tablet technology, networking time, ortholabs, etc.; these are important ingredients to make this meeting interesting."
