05 Dec Fundraising Event – Silent Auction
A wealth management company’s charitable foundation wanted to hold a Fundraising Gala Dinner to raise money for a number of the charities it supported. The foundation wanted to have two auctions throughout the evening: a silent auction which would run throughout the evening comprising fourteen lots, and a live auction lot of ten lots. The amount of money raised at the event would then be matched by the foundation and added to the total.
We provided our Messenger handsets to each table of guests along with fully branded RFID bid cards which were customised with guests’ names. Guests simply used a Messenger handset to find their desired silent auction lot and then pressed the ‘Bid’ key. They then used their bid card to securely log into the handset and then typed in the amount they wished to bid. Guests were able to see the current price of each lot on the handset screen, as well as a list of items for which they were the highest current bidder.
Plasma screens were displayed around the ballroom showing details for the auction lots, as well as their current highest bid and bidder. Guests could then decide to outbid each other for any chosen item.
Following the live auction we added the live results to the total of the silent auction bids. A whopping £200k was raised at the end of the evening which was then matched by the foundation. We were able to provide a full bid history for each silent auction lot including timestamps, as well as a list of how much each guest had pledged.
